#BookReview – “The Fifth Witness” (Mickey Haller #4)

The Fifth WitnessSo in this story Mickey has picked up a real associate that is fresh out of law school and is working under his tutelage.  He has found new clients in trolling the foreclosure lists and writing letters to people, who would otherwise have no clue, letting them know they are in foreclosure.  All is well until one of his clients whom he is representing in a foreclosure case is accused of murdering the banker handling the foreclosure.  Mickey’s eyes light up because murder cases bring in the most money and publicity.  The book is filled with lots of deception and you will flip at the end because i guarantee you will not figure out who the real killer is.  The book holds a great deal of deception and big reveals.  Hope you enjoy. – Norman LaVelle

Mickey Haller has fallen on tough times. He expands his business into foreclosure defense, only to see one of his clients accused of killing the banker she blames for trying to take away her home.

Mickey puts his team into high gear to exonerate Lisa Trammel, even though the evidence and his own suspicions tell him his client is guilty. Soon after he learns that the victim had black market dealings of his own, Haller is assaulted, too—and he’s certain he’s on the right trail.

Despite the danger and uncertainty, Haller mounts the best defense of his career in a trial where the last surprise comes after the verdict is in. Connelly proves again why he “may very well be the best novelist working in the United States today” (San Francisco Chronicle).
