#BookReview – Private: Vegas

21423303Reading this book was like watching an action movie. There were explosions, fights, murder, deception and a touch of mystery throughout the entire book. I didn’t expect to like this book so much because some of the other private novels were just too busy. There is usually so much going on in the book that you loose focus of the main plot. This book however was a great mixture.

There are technically four different cases going on in this novel. The primary story is Rick being on trial for the murder of his ex-girlfriend. Jack Morgan the CEO of Private, and Rick’s best friend can do nothing but sit in the gallery on this one. Because he is a witness and the police are all over this, he can’t be seen anywhere near this investigation. Then there are the mysterious set of car bombing that are being investigated by both private and the police. There’s one of Private’s clients in jail because he just murdered his wife, whom he thinks was trying to murder him. And then there are the 2 foreign diplomats who are going around Los Angeles causing all sorts of trouble. Oh and lets not forget speed racer. lol. I will let you all figure that one out, if you can. If you are a Patterson fan or just a action and crime novel junkie, then you will not regret adding this to your reading list. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. – Norman LaVelle

Las Vegas is a city of contradictions: seedy and glamorous, secretive and wild, Vegas attracts people of all kinds–especially those with a secret to hide, or a life to leave behind. It’s the perfect location for Lester Olsen’s lucrative business. He gets to treat gorgeous, young women to five-star restaurants, splashy shows, and limo rides–and then he teaches them how to kill.

Private Jack Morgan spends most of his time in Los Angeles, where his top investigation firm has its headquarters. But a hunt for two criminals leads him to the city of sin–and to a murder ring that is more seductively threatening than anything he’s witnessed before. PRIVATE VEGAS brings James Patterson’s Private series to a sensational new level.
