This book was a little different from what I am used to from Patterson. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the book because I like movies of this type. There are all sorts of things happing in the world all of a sudden. sudden cases of polio and famine are popping up across the globe. And when the news that a young girl whom is pregnant but also claims to be a virgin come to light, the Archdiocese of Boston decides to do something. He brings in Anne Fitzgerald a ex nun turned private investigator, to go to the young woman and fully substantiate or debunk her claim. While performing this investigation Overseas another young girl has also turned up pregnant and she too says that she is a virgin. The Pope dispatches an investigator from the Vatican to look into the second pregnancy and also to go to America and see about the 1st. He also tells the details of a prophecy that he things is coming to pass marked by the two births.
As Anne can’t help but be skeptical of this entire ordeal, but the more she digs into the claim in Boston she is starting to believe that this baby is truly a gift from God. The story is filled with mystery, twist and turns and with an ending that you will not see coming. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
In Boston, a young woman finds herself pregnant—even though she is still a virgin. In Ireland, another young woman discovers she is in the same impossible condition. And in cities all around the world, medical authorities are overwhelmed by epidemics, droughts, famines, floods, and worse. It all feels like a sign that something awful is coming. Anne Fitzgerald, a former nun turned private investigator, is hired by the Archdiocese of Boston to investigate the immaculate conceptions. Even as she comes to care about and trust the young women, she realizes that both are in great danger. Terrifying forces of light and darkness are gathering. Stepping into uncharted territory where the unknown is just the beginning, Anne must discover the truth—to save the young women, to save herself, and to protect the future of all mankind. Cradle and All probes our most deeply held fears and hopes in a sizzlingly fast-paced and chilling story. This is James Patterson’s most brilliant suspense novel ever, written with all the extraordinary drama and overwhelming emotion that have made him a #1 bestselling writer all over the world.
Cradle and All is based on an earlier James Patterson novel, Virgin, and includes scenes and characters from that book.”
